In an effort to better serve all of MSHA, the Foundation launched nine new boards. Each of these boards is composed of strong community leaders who truly want to make a difference in their communities. These boards are off to a great start, having identified needs within their
own facilities along with establishing grassroots fundraising efforts to support these needs. Radio auctions, tree-lightings, pancake breakfasts and open house receptions are just a few of the ways these boards have been able to reach out to those in their community to make them aware of the needs of their hospital and to garner their support. The benefit from these events has brought, and is continuing to bring, funding for medicine boxes for Russell County Medical Center, a 12-lead ECG for the Indian Path Medical Center Emergency Department and a Pediatric Emergency Room at Johnson County Community Hospital, in addition to many more much-needed items.
